Solano dominates against short-handed Mendocino

There is no let up by the Solano Community College women’s basketball team, which is still chasing the Bay Valley Conference title.

Solano’s players helped Coach Matt celebrate his 300th career victory.

And the Falcons gave Coach Matt Borchert his 300th career win in style.

LaNia Adams came off the bench to score 21 points as the Falcons beat Mendocino in Ukiah 92-45. The freshman forward was 9 of 13 from the field and added five rebounds.

Coach Matt, the winningest coach in Solano women’s basketball history, is also the only coach in the program’s history to reach 300 wins.

Cassandra Jones had 14 points for Solano while Christen Voyles added 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Kyara Reed also came off the bench to contribute 11 points and five rebounds.

The Falcons controlled the game from the start against the Eagles, which only suited up five players. Mendocino was forced to finish with four players after one of them fouled out.

Next up: Solano travels to Marysville to take on Yuba College.
