Solid third quarter lifts Solano to BVC victory

Alex Bader scored 16 points as the Solano Community College women’s basketball team extended its longest win streak of the season with a 71-52 win over Yuba College on Thursday.

The Falcons, winners of three straight, pulled away with a stellar shooting performance in the third quarter, after leading 31-25 at halftime. Solano outscored Yuba 23-7 in the third behind solid 3-point shooting and aggressive plays in the paint.

Bader added five rebounds, four assists and three steals while fellow sophomore Christen Voyles scored 13 points and added eight rebounds, two assists and two big blocked shots.

LaNia Adams was solid off the bench for the Falcons once again – finishing with nine points, three rebounds and four steals.

Solano improved to 3-0 in BVC games, remaining tied atop the conference standings with Laney College and Contra Costa College. The Falcons take on both teams next week.
