Solano fell in the semifinals 92-76 Saturday night to Chabot, despite leading at halftime and making a valiant effort in the first five minutes of the second half to maintain the lead.
Five players scored in double figures for the Falcons, who shot 38 percent from the 3-point line.
Laura Lawson recorded her fifth double double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Nae Rankins continued her strong play in the Showdown with 17 points, 8 rebounds and three assists.
Jenessa Boling had 15 points, all on 3-pointers, while Nikki Andaya added 14 points and 4 assists and Audrie Jones scored 13 points and had five rebounds.
Jones gave the Falcons their first lead of the game, 42-41, on a 3-pointer from the far corner as the halftime buzzer sounded.
Solano was able to sustain the momentum for several minutes into the second half before Chabot’s athleticism and a solid shooting night from the Gladiators proved to be too much.
The loss was the first defeat at home for Solano since Jan. 30, 2013, a stretch of 14 games.
