Taylor Hamilton and Denisha Lundy led another balanced scoring effort as the Solano women’s basketball team won its 13th straight game, a 91-68 victory over Mendocino on Wednesday night in Fairfield.
Taylor scored 17 points and added 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals while shooting 6 of 11 from the field. Denisha added 16 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals while shooting 6 of 12 from the floor.
Solano took control of the game early, eventually building a 22-point lead before Mendocino rallied to cut the lead 45-31 at the half. The Falcons overcame 12 first-half turnovers.
SCC built another 20-plus point lead in the second half before the Eagles rallied again to cut it to 14. That was as close as they got though as Solano proved too mighty on its home floor.
Ariel Clay added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Falcons, who improved to 21-4 and 12-0 in Bay Valley Conference games. Nikki Andaya had 10 points and four steals. Necole White continued her solid play off the bench for the Falcons. The sophomore guard had 7 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Solano travels to Pittsburg on Friday to take on Los Medanos College at 5:30 p.m.
