Four players scored in double figures, but it took a team effort for the Solano women’s basketball team to come from behind to record a 72-63 victory over Napa Valley College in Bay Valley Conference action on Tuesday.
Denisha Lundy had 18 points, four rebounds and five assists to lead the Falcons, who trailed 42-34 at the half. The team came out with intense defense in the second half, allowing them to make the game tight for the remainder of the night.
“I was very impressed with our tenacity and heart against Napa,” said Solano coach Matt Borchert. “Napa is always ready to play Solano and tonight’s game was just another great game in the rivalry.”
Taylor Hamilton added 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Falcons while Laura Lawson and Nikki Andaya rounded out the scoring with 10 points each. Lawson had 11 rebounds.
Solano takes on Mendocino in Ukiah on Thursday before returning home to take on Los Medanos on Saturday.
