The Solano women’s basketball team captured a tie for the Bay Valley Conference’s Valley Division title with a convincing 79-48 win over Napa Valley on Friday night.
The Falcons raced out to a 10-0 lead and was never threatened by the Storm. Solano improved to 14-9 overall and 9-0 in conference.
Ivy Jones and Carmen Belser each scored 12 points to lead Solano, which has two games left in the regular season before the BVC tournament starts on Feb. 15. Tara Cooley and Shannon Rankin added 11 points each.
Solano is looking to win its fourth straight conference title and the program’s 10th overall. The Falcons travel to Marysville on Wednesday to take on Yuba and host Los Medanos on Friday. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
The game against Los Medanos will be a benefit game for Coaches vs. Cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear sneakers to the game to show their support for cancer research.
