The Solano women’s basketball team lost in the third place game to host De Anza on Thursday 75-43. That loss comes on the heels of a 58-44 loss to Ohlone on Wednesday in the tournament’s semifinals.
In the Ohlone game, Solano committed 27 turnovers and shot 30 percent from the field. Ivy Jones led the offense with 13 points but was the only Falcon in double figures. She added six assists. Shannon Rankin had eight points and 10 rebounds for Solano.
Against De Anza, Solano was outplayed in all facets of the game, according to Coach Matt Borchert. Ivy Jones scored 18 points while Zuri Collins led the efforts on the boards with 6 rebounds.
Solano looks to get back in the win column on January 5 when it opens defense of three straight Bay Valley Conference titles. The Falcons (5-9) host Napa Valley College in the conference opener at 5:30 p.m.
