Solano drops heartbreaker in Santa Barbara

Solano (0-2) dropped a heartbreaker in the first round of the Santa Barbara tournament on Thursday. The Falcons led by as many as 12 during the game and held a 1-point advantage late in the contest, but struggled from the free throw line and couldn’t put the game away. Ivy Jones actually had the chance to win the game with a jumper from the free throw line, but the ball didn’t bounce Solano’s way. The Falcons take on San Diego Mesa, which lost to host Santa Barbara, Friday at 3 p.m.

Against OCC, Ivy Jones led the way with 20 points while teammates Tara Cooley (14 points), Jessica Woods (12 points), Desiree Strong (10 points) and  Destinee Sinegal (10 points) all contributed double-figure scoring.

Ivy added 7 assists. Jessica notched her first double-double of the season with 12 rebounds.
