The Solano College women’s basketball team won its 11th straight game in beating Napa Valley College 83-40 on Monday night in Napa.
Solano was sluggish out of the gate, but still built a 25-point halftime lead. Goli Tavassoli led the Falcons with 15 points, connecting on 4 of 8 three-pointers. She added four assists.
Solano (13-4, 5-0) has now won 19 straight conference games dating back to last season when the Falcons finished the conference schedule with 14 consecutive victories.
“Our defense picked it up in the second half and we were able to build a little more of a lead,” said Coach Matt Borchert. “We have to play strong for 40 minutes though every night out.”
Ashley Daniels scored 13 points and added three rebounds and four steals while Destinee Sinegal had 11 points and three steals. Veronica Morris contributed another well-rounded game with 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Freshman Ivy Jones also stood out with eight points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Solano returns home on Wednesday to take on Yuba College at 5:30 p.m.
