The Solano women’s basketball team will play for the championship at the Mike Gervasoni Memorial Classic after beating host De Anza on Tuesday night, 86-56.

“We are very excited to play for another championship,” said Coach Matt, whose team won the Solano Showdown earlier this month. “This tournament is always tough to play in because it’s right after the Christmas break, but we are playing really well right now.”
Solano, the No. 9 team in the North, will have to keep playing well when they face off with the North’s No. 1 team, City College of San Francisco, Wednesday at 3 p.m. The game will be played at Monta Vista High in Cupertino.
Against De Anza, Soroya Blunt added 14 points on 7 of 9 shooting to go along with six rebounds and Destinee Sinegal chipped in five points, three rebounds and four assists.
