They have to successfully complete the CHAPMAN DRILL (named Chapman because it’s the greatest 4-yr school on the West Coast, holler), which is a ladder-organized conditioning drill.
They will be split up into two groups and start at the baseline. The first group will go full court and back, then the second group will do the same (level 1). As the second group completes their turn, the first group now must go down and back twice (level 2) and the second group will follow.
They do this all the way up to 5 levels (1-2-3-4-5) and then back down (5-4-3-2-1), all while performing each level in a certain time limit. One level not completed in the time minimum will result in disqualification and they will have lost the chance to earn their uni that day.
It’s tough, it’ll make them want to vomit and see spots, but it’ll test to see if they’re mentally ready to be a part of the program when official practice starts next week.
Coming sometime this week: my recap of the Hall of Fame banquet.
